HAY BALE ART CONTEST & TOUR
The Hay Bale Art Contest & Tour was created to pay tribute to Woodson County's agricultural heritage and its long-standing title as the Prairie Hay Capital of the World, to engage residents in a fun family activity, and to promote tourism to the area. HayFest is an annual festival held on the Historic Yates Center Town Square in Yates Center, Kansas. This annual Fall Festival was re-branded to HayFest in 2022 to pay homage to our long-standing title as "Prairie Hay Capital of the World" and honor the agricultural heritage of Kansas. The festival features hay bale art, food trucks, live music, kids' games, family-friendly activities, a haunted house, a beer garden, and more!
