About the event

After our annual Spring Clean-Up, we are branching out from the Historic Downtown Square into the community with a new campaign called “Adore Your Door!” In an effort to spark some excitement with new color, vibrancy, and further sprucing up around the community, we are launching an initiative to encourage homeowners to paint their front doors with a fresh coat of bright, vibrant paint.

Made possible with a grant from Kansas Community Empowerment in partnership with Kansas Masons, RevitalizeYC is helping to facilitate the beautification of Yates Center. The initiative is open to 75 participants living within the city limits of Yates Center. Each participant will receive a free quart of exterior-grade paint from Superior Building Supply. We are encouraging homeowners to choose a color that will add a “pop” of color to their property. Leftover paint may be used to spruce up other areas on your property such as window boxes, front porch details, mailboxes, etc.

A panel of judges will award the homeowner with the greatest transformation a $250 gift card to your choice of The Glass House or Superior Building Supply in order to purchase more materials to “spruce up” your property.

Details below:

1. Sign Up! Register here to complete the brief questionnaire and submit your “before” photos.

2. Pick Out Your Paint! Once you have registered on our website, show your emailed “ticket” confirmation to Superior Building Supply in Yates Center to pick out a paint color of your choice and receive your free quart of paint. You will be given a yard sign to place in your yard indicating you’re participating in the contest.

3. Paint Your Door & Place Your Sign! Use the quart of paint to paint your front door. Increase your chances of winning by completing supplemental beautification work to the exterior of your property.

4. Submit “After” Photos! You’ll have 4 weeks to complete the project and submit your “After” photos.
