Would you like to get involved and help us make Hay Fest an amazing experience for our community & visitors? If so, sign up here! 

We are excited to welcome you to Hay Fest on the Historic Yates Center Town Square! This event continues our tradition of celebrating the Fall season and Woodson County's agricultural heritage each October along with the Friends for Life Breast Cancer Benefit Auction and Walk.

The event will be held on October 13th & 14th, 2023 on the Historic Yates Center Town Square.

Admission is free, but volunteers are needed.

  • Soup Supper Volunteer

    Friday, October 13th 3:00 PM - 7:00 PM There is a free-will donation Soup Supper featuring chili and vegetable soup on Friday evening. Help with preparing the chili and soup is always needed and appreciated.

  • BINGO Volunteer

    Friday, October 13th @ 5:00 PM - 10:00 PM RevitalizeYC needs assistance with setting up tables and chairs for this event. In addition, help with selling BINGO Games and passing out prizes to BINGO winners.

  • Hay Fest Event Setup Crew

    Saturday, October 14th @ 7:00 AM - 11:00 AM With event setup, you will arrive the morning of the event and help set up the site, working under the directions of a RevitalizeYC Board Member. Event Setup includes helping with: - Placing Road Barricades - Stage Setup for Live Music - Setting Up Tables & Chairs - Placing Decorations - Hanging Signs - Directing Vendors to Location - Erecting Tents - Setting Out Event Materials - Etc.

  • Kids' Event Manager

    Saturday, October 14th 10:00 AM - 3:00 PM Hay Fest is a family oriented event with plenty of things for kids to do. To keep this up, we could use help with running one of the kids' events. Volunteers will works under the direction of various members of the Hay Fest event committee or RevitalizeYC Board of Directors. Volunteers will assist on the day of the event for kid event setup and cleanup. Potential Events: - Scavenger Hunt - Hay Pit - Carnival Games - Fall Crafts - Inflatables - Etc.

  • Hay Fest Event Cleanup Crew

    Saturday, October 14th 3:00 PM - 7:00 PM With event cleanup, you will arrive the afternoon of the event and help cleanup the site, working under the directions of a RevitalizeYC Board Member. Event Cleanup Includes: - Removing Road Barricades - Stage Teardown following last performance - Clean and Put Away Tables & Chairs - Pickup Decorations - Remove Signs - Directing Vendors to Location - Taking Down Tents - Picking Up Trash - Emptying Trash Receptacles - Etc.

  • Haunted House Scare Actor

    Saturday, October 14th 7:00 PM - 11:30 PM *If it works out, we plan to have this multiple weekends throughout October 2023. It requires professionalism, enthusiasm, and awareness. While there are always a variety of roles available, ideal Scare Actors are outgoing individuals who show up on-time ready to go, can think quickly on their feet (and in character), and handle the physically demanding environment inside the attractions.
